Steps to booking a studio at the EDC halls of residence

1. Fill in the pre-booking form and post it on the website.
2. You receive an acknowledgement of receipt.
3. The EDC checks your eligibility (Who can stay here?). Provide proof of enrolment as a Phd student.
4. Thank you for supplying a copy of documents proving your doctoral status.
5. If you are eligible, your pre-booking form is forwarded to the Accommodation officer in charge of assigning studios.
6. After checking vacancies, the Accommodation officer then contacts you to confirm your booking and may ask you for further details. Your booking is confirmed when you receive an email that explains how and when to obtain your electronic swipe key on arrival.
7. For stays of 4 months or more must subscribe to a comprehensive home insurance and provide a certificate of insurance administration.

Deposit

A 300 € refundable deposit for cleaning is required, and you are also required to provide a moral guarantee from an institution such as your university department, Doctoral School, "UFR" French research institute or any similar eligible research organisation. We ask you for the name of a guarantor whom we will contact directly.

Rental for couples

The studio apartments are available for individuals or couples. A supplement may be charged for the second person for long stays.

Please note that the building is not suitable for children.

Help with rent

You can apply for financial support to help pay your rent (this is called 'Aide au Logement' or "ALS"). Please ask the university accommodation service "CROUS" or the social services (caisse allocation familiale "CAF") for the appropriate form.
