Specific financial aids and facilities

Nowadays it is essential that researchers network internationally. We offer a range of financial aids with which we do facilitate international networking and mobility.

• Accomodation

In Strasbourg

Modern comfortable studio flats are available at the EDC Hall of Residance. You are given priority and benefit from reduced rent. It is possible to stay from a few days to several months. We recommend you book in advance by filling in the pre-booking form on the EDC Hall of Residence website : http://cde.unistra.fr/

Abroad

The College also helps you by contributing to rental costs for accommodation abroad, during stays at the second research center/UNiversity : monthly refund of 100 euros for a maximum of 6 months, on production of a dated rental agreement and a covering letter from one of your co-supervisors, confirming the stay abroad.

• Mobility

 You have to move between the University of Strasbourg and your second research centre/University? We offer financial support for mobility up to 450 euros for the duration of your PhD thesis.

• Summer / winter schools
  

You receive a funding to participate in 2 summer or winter schools. 300 euros (maximum) for each summer / winter school are available to help with refund of part of the registration fees, for accomodation or travelling expenses.

NB. This support is only available for summer / winter schools or for conferences with an active participation. The full programme of the summer / winter school as well as proof of enrolment / payment of fees must be submitted.

• Bridge scholarships

We have set aside a system of short 'Bridge scholarships' to help candidates towards the end pf the thesis, when their initial grant(s) have expired and when they are in need of more time to terminate their doctorate. In order to apply for this type of financial support, candidates are asked to submit a date for their oral defence at the time of application. This date must be validated by co-supervisors. Please note that these 'Bridge-scholarships' are short-term (a few months) and that a special application process is in place. You will be informed by email of the next application call.
